The legally recognised rights, privileges, and physical elements inseparably attached to a property within a manor. These included both beneficial rights such as pasturage (grazing livestock on common land) or piscary (fishing), as well as obligations such as attendance at the manor court (suit), payment of specific rents, and performance of customary services to the lord. Appurtenances were considered inherent to the land tenure itself, transferring automatically when the property changed hands, and were carefully documented in court rolls.
