  • The table above details the main beneficiaries of the will, however the original transcript should be consulted so that some conditional statements (not reflected above) are taken into account. For example, the condition that William Brine is to manage money for certain grandchildren and pay interest to Katherine Glover yearly. There’s also a provision that if a house can be bought for Katherine Glover, the twenty pounds in Ambrose Cufe’s hands should be used for that purpose.

Grant of Probate: 20th September 1639, awarded to William Bryne, son of Ambrose by the Prerogative Court of Canterbury in London.
